Job Description:
Provide safe, courteous, and timely bus transportation between home and school for students.
Certificates, Licenses, Permits:
Selected applicants must have a valid Class A or B, CDL Florida License with Passenger Endorsement and School Bus Endorsement.
Education and/or Experience:
• School bus driving: 1 year (Preferred)
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must provide a seven-year motor vehicle report. Major traffic citations may exclude consideration. Minor traffic citations such as parking tickets are not considered. Must pass a pre-employment and random drug testing.
• Must pass a pre-employment and annual physical exam (as a minimum the applicant shall have no mental, nervous, organic or condition that would interfere with safe driving; applicant shall have no loss of foot or hand; vision and hearing shall meet the FL. Dept. of Education Physical Examination Form
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive buses and transport students to and from school and/or co-curricular activities
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and its special equipment.
• Conduct emergency evacuation drills as required by the Local school system.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with school staff and the public.
• Complete legible and accurate required reports in the prescribed manner on a timely basis.
• Provide maximum safety for passengers while on the bus and during loading and unloading.
• Maintain orderly conduct of student passengers.
• Maintain routes and schedules planned by the School System personnel.
• Attend all In-service Safety meetings required by the State and Local School system.
• Deliver bus to Fleet maintenance facility as directed by a pre-arranged monthly schedule for bus service.
• Keep the assigned bus clean and prepared for monthly inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
