Summer Food Assistance: Free Resources for Jefferson County Families

Summer break means school cafeterias close, but the need for reliable meals doesn't take a break too. Jefferson County Schools wants every family to know that free food resources are available all summer long — no questions asked.

Tiger Mart Food Pantry

Jefferson K-12 School is hosting the Tiger Mart Food Pantry throughout the summer. Order ahead at OrderAhead.org, or call 850-347-7050 to arrange pickup.

Free Food Lockers

The Jefferson County Health Department is offering free food boxes for pickup through its Free Food Lockers program. Call 850-342-3170 for details on locations and availability.

Second Harvest Distribution Sites

Second Harvest is also running distribution sites across the county throughout the summer:

A New Day Initiative — 1599 Spring Hollow Rd. — 4th Saturday, 8am until gone

Bethpage Missionary Baptist — 379 Bethpage Rd. — Every Thursday, 10am–12pm

Christ Episcopal Church — 425 N. Cherry Street — Last Friday, 7:30–9:30am

Eagles Wings Food Pantry — 290 E. Dogwood Street — 1st and 3rd Wednesday, 9–10:30am

Macedonia Free Will Baptist — 3093 S. Jefferson Hwy — 1st and 3rd Saturday, 10am until gone

New Bethel AME Church — 6496 Ashville Highway — 4th Saturday, 7–8am

All sites are located in Monticello, FL.

All Families Are Welcome

These resources are open to all families in our community — no questions asked. If you know a neighbor who could use this support, please share this list with them.
