As part of our district’s ongoing efforts to provide safe and secure environments, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, Jefferson County Schools has implemented a Clear Bag Procedure for all school athletic events, performing arts events, and other large group events. The clear bag procedure approves only bags at a maximum of 12 inches X 6 inches X 12 inches or a one-gallon clear plastic storage bag, along with a small clutch or purse for privacy (no larger than 4.5 inches X 6.5 inches). *Exceptions to the Clear Bag Procedure will be made for credentialed media and those with necessary medical items after proper inspection at designated areas.
The image below displays approved bags, including clear tote bags, diaper bags, and small clutches, as well as prohibited items such as purses, laptop bags, camera cases, backpacks, and more.
As a reminder, students in grades PreK-8th must be supervised by a parent or adult when entering and while attending any Jefferson County Schools sponsored event.
PreK-8th students without parent or adult supervision will not be permitted entry into the school sponsored events.
Students in grades 9th-12th will be allowed to attend all events under the supervision of administrators.
Additionally, students currently serving any form of school suspension will not be permitted to attend school sponsored events.
