QUALIFICATIONS:



(1) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution.

(2) Florida Educator Certificate Required

(3) Florida Coaching Certificate Required

(4) Minimum of three (3) years coaching experience

(5) Ability to perform the functions of the position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To direct the planning, preparations and coaching activities of the football program.

2. To plan, schedule and conduct a regular program of practice and competition in accordance

with rules of the school, the School Board and the Florida High School Activities

Association.

3. To supervise, evaluate and recommend appointments and assignments of coaching staff.

4. To assist the Director of Athletics in the distribution and collection of appropriate information

i.e. Parent Consent Forms, Physical Examination Forms, Birth Certificates, Grade Report

Forms at the end of each grading period, Accident Forms and any other information

concerning sport.

5. To attend the appropriate meetings pertaining to football as scheduled by the Florida High

School Activities Association and the school, i.e. rules, clinics, scheduling meetings, etc.

6. To recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as needed.

7. To assume responsibility for maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment pertaining to

the sport.

8. To oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area assigned to the football program.

9. To assume responsibility for supervision, safety and welfare of students participating in the

football program before, during and after scheduled practices and competitive contests.

10. To establish and maintain good rapport with athletes, staff, parents, community groups and

news media.

11. To assume responsibility for submitting request for transportation forms to the Athletic

Director.

12. To coordinate with the Athletic Director the physical examination of football athletes.

13. To assist the Athletic Director in planning and organization of promotion and participant

recruitment and recognition programs pertaining to the sport.

14. To perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

15. To perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality.

16. To perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. Continuous walking and/or standing is required to carry out duties. Infrequent walking at fast pace and/or running may be required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

EVALUATION:

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
